This specification has been declared “CANCELLED” by the Aerospace Materials Division, SAE, as of June 2009. By this action, this document will remain listed in the Numerical Section of the Index of Aerospace Material Specifications indicating that it has been “CANCELLED”.

This specification covers a colored but unpigmented baking varnish based on a phenolic resin.

This varnish has been used typically as a corrosion-preventive coating on interior parts of aircraft engines, but usage is not limited to such applications.
